Somethin That You Have To Think About

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways,but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgement, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbour. We conquered outer space but not inner space.. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

How To Improve Your Memory & Exercise Your Brain

Everyone can take steps to improve their memory, and with time and practice most people can gain the ability to memorize seemingly impossible amounts of information. Whether you want to win the World Memory Championships, ace your history test, or simply remember where you put your keys, this article can get you started. Scientists believe that exercising your brain can create a ‘cognitive reserve’ that will help you stay sharp as you age.

1. Convince yourself that you do have a good memory that will improve.

Too many people get stuck here and convince themselves that their memory is bad, that they are just not good with names, that numbers just slip out of their minds for some reason. Erase those thoughts and vow to improve your memory. Commit yourself to the task and bask in your achievements — it’s hard to keep motivated if you beat yourself down every time you make a little bit of progress.

2. Keep your brain active.

The brain is not a muscle, but regularly “exercising” the brain actually does keep it growing and spurs the development of new nerve connections that can help improve memory. By developing new mental skills—especially complex ones such as learning a new language or learning to play a new musical instrument—and challenging your brain with puzzles and games you can keep your brain active and improve its physiological functioning.

3. Exercise daily.

Regular aerobic exercise improves circulation and efficiency throughout the body, including in the brain, and can help ward off the memory loss that comes with aging. Exercise also makes you more alert and relaxed, and can thereby improve your memory uptake, allowing you to take better mental “pictures.”

4. Reduce stress.

Chronic stress, although it does not physically damage the brain, can make remembering much more difficult. Even temporary stresses can make it more difficult to effectively focus on concepts and observe things. Try to relax, regularly practice yoga or other stretching exercises, and see a doctor if you have severe chronic stress.

5. Eat well and eat right.

There are a lot of herbal supplements on the market that claim to improve memory, but none have yet been shown to be effective in clinical tests (although small studies have shown some promising results for ginkgo biloba and phosphatidylserine). A healthy diet, however, contributes to a healthy brain, and foods containing antioxidants—broccoli, blueberries, spinach, and berries, for example—and Omega-3 fatty acids appear to promote healthy brain functioning. Feed your brain with such supplements as Thiamine, Vitamin E, Niacin and Vitamin B-6. Grazing, eating 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 large meals, also seems to improve mental functioning (including memory) by limiting dips in blood sugar, which may negatively affect the brain.

6. Take better pictures.

Often we forget things not because our memory is bad, but rather because our observational skills need work. One common situation where this occurs (and which almost everyone can relate to) is meeting new people. Often we don’t really learn people’s names at first because we aren’t really concentrating on remembering them. You’ll find that if you make a conscious effort to remember such things, you’ll do much better. One way to train yourself to be more observant is to look at an unfamiliar photograph for a few seconds and then turn the photograph over and describe or write down as many details as you can about the photograph. Try closing your eyes and picturing the photo in your mind. Use a new photograph each time you try this exercise, and with regular practice you will find you’re able to remember more details with even shorter glimpses of the photos.

7. Give yourself time to form a memory.

Memories are very fragile in the short-term, and distractions can make you quickly forget something as simple as a phone number. The key to avoid losing memories before you can even form them is to be able to focus on the thing to be remembered for a while without thinking about other things, so when you’re trying to remember something, avoid distractions and complicated tasks for a few minutes.

8. Create vivid, memorable images.

You remember information more easily if you can visualize it. If you want to associate a child with a book, try not to visualize the child reading the book – that’s too simple and forgettable. Instead, come up with something more jarring, something that sticks, like the book chasing the child, or the child eating the book. It’s your mind – make the images as shocking and emotional as possible to keep the associations strong.

9. Repeat things you need to learn.

The more times you hear, see, or think about something, the more surely you’ll remember it, right? It’s a no-brainer. When you want to remember something, be it your new coworker’s name or your best friend’s birthday, repeat it, either out loud or silently. Try writing it down; think about it.

10. Group things you need to remember.

Random lists of things (a shopping list, for example) can be especially difficult to remember. To make it easier, try categorizing the individual things from the list. If you can remember that, among other things, you wanted to buy four different kinds of vegetables, you’ll find it easier to remember all four.

11. Organize your life.

Keep items that you frequently need, such as keys and eyeglasses, in the same place every time. Use an electronic organizer or daily planner to keep track of appointments, due dates for bills, and other tasks. Keep phone numbers and addresses in an address book or enter them into your computer or cell phone. Improved organization can help free up your powers of concentration so that you can remember less routine things. Even if being organized doesn’t improve your memory, you’ll receive a lot of the same benefits (i.e. you won’t have to search for your keys anymore).

12. Try meditation.

Research now suggests that people who regularly practice “mindfulness” meditation are able to focus better and may have better memories. Mindfulness (also known as awareness or insight meditation) is the type commonly practiced in Western countries and is easy to learn. Studies at Massachusetts General Hospital show that regular meditation thickens the cerebral cortex in the brain by increasing the blood flow to that region. Some researchers believe this can enhance attention span, focus, and memory.

13. Sleep well.

The amount of sleep we get affects the brain’s ability to recall recently learned information. Getting a good night’s sleep – a minimum of seven hours a night – may improve your short-term memory and long-term relational memory, according to recent studies conducted at the Harvard Medical School.

14. Build your memorization arsenal.

Learn pegs, memory palaces, and the Dominic System. These techniques form the foundation for mnemonic techniques, and will visibly improve your memory.

15. Venture out and learn from your mistakes.

Go ahead and take a stab at memorizing the first one hundred digits of pi, or, if you’ve done that already, the first one thousand. Memorize the monarchs of England through your memory palaces, or your grocery list through visualization. Through diligent effort you will eventually master the art of memorization.

Himpunan Petua Melayu

Hilangkan karat pada gigi
Cara untuk menghilangkan karat dari gigi adalah dengan dengan mengambil biji asam jawa, kemudian gorengkan tanpa minyak lalu ditumbuk hingga halus. ambil debunya dan gosokkan pada gigi dengan kain atau berus gigi.Lakukan setiaphari dan InsyaAllah anda akan dapat melihat kesannya.

Legakan Sakit kepala
Sakit kepala boleh dihilangkan dengan cara mengambil daun lemuni hijau lebih kurang sekilogram dan dimasukkan kedalam sarung bantal. Kemudian tidurlah diatasnya selama dua tiga hari. InsyaAllah sakit kepala anda akan berkurangan dan anda akan berasa segar.

Kurangkan kadar kolestrol
Perah sedikit lemon dan campurkan dengan secamca teh minyak zaitun. Amalkan meminumnya dua atau tiga hari sekali atau setiap kali mengmbil makanan berkolestrol tinggi. InsyaAllah kesannya akan dapat dirasai dalam masa seminggu.Ia juga dapat menghilangkan pembentukan selulit.

Kulit Berkedut
Ambil sebatang lobak merah , bersihkan dan parut, setelah itu campurkan sebiji kuning telur dan secamca besar tepung jagung. Bahan ini dikacau hingg sebati , setelah itu bolehlah dilumurkan pada kulit muka. Lakukan sekali sehari pada waktu malam. Cucilah muka ketika hendak tidur dengan air suam. Amalkan Selalu insyaallah berkesan.

Sakit Gigi
Ambil sebatang serai dan titik bahagian hujungnya.Salai seketika diatas api dan sewaktu masih suam , gigit pada tempat sakit. InsyaAllah sakit akan berkurangan.

Senggugut
Ambil sembilan biji pinang tua , dibakar hingga menjadi arang dan ditumbuk halus. Campurkan dengan secawan air suam dan minum. Amalkan petua ini sembilan hari berturut-turut dari hati mula kedatangan haid. InsyaAllah mujarab.

Petua Menghentikan Pendarahan
Ambil tembakau rokok dan tekapkan pada bahagian yang berdarah. Waktu menekapkannya pada luka hindarkan dari terkena air. Hasilnya , insyaAllah darah akan berhenti mengalir dan luka tidak lagi terasa sakit.

Turunkan suhu Badan Bayi
Gunakan 3 jari tangan anda (ibu jari , telunjuk dan jari hantu), baca bismillah dan selawat 3 kali. Masukkan 3 jari tersebut kedalam beras. Genggam dan lepaskan beras dari genggaman kedalam secawan air masak. Biarkan beras yang melekat pada ketiga jari itu, dan makan beras tersebut. Gunakan air yang bercampur dengan beras tadi untuk disapukan kebadan bayi. InsyaAllah suhu badanbayi akan berkurangan.

Hilangkan Kesan Teh
Ambil saja sedikit ubat gigi dan sapu pada kole atau gelas yang ada kesan berkarat dari teh. Ambil sehelai kain bersih dan gosokkan padanya. InsyaAllah kesan teh akan hilang dengan mudah dan gelas atau kole anda tidak akan tercalar.

Elak ikan melekat ketika digoreng
Seringkah anda menghadapi masalah ketika mengoreng ikan? Anda hanya perlu memasukkan beberapa keping asam keping bersama ikan yang sedang digoreng. Selamat mencuba.

Menjadikan wajah berseri
Kebiasaannya setiap orang mahukan wajah licin terutamanya kaum wanita. Anda tidak perlukan modal yg besar. Basuh beras dan tuskan airnya. Goreng tanpa minyak hingga hangus kemudian tumbuk halus seperti serbuk. Simpan di dalam botol. Apabila hendak digunakan ambil sedikit dan campurkan dengan air limau nipis. Gosok pada muka dan biarkan kering. Setelah itu cuci muka hingga bersih.

Merawat bengkak usus
Penyakit bengkak usus jika dibiarkan amat merbahaya. Jika anda ingin merawatnya, potong sebuku kunyit hidup (dimesin), sedikit garam, sedikit gula merah dan sedikit perahan air limau nipis. Campurkan semua bahan didalam segelas air suam dan diminum. Amalkanlah.

Mengilatkan periuk
Untuk mengilatkan periuk anda, ambil sedikit sabun mandi dan lekatkan pada berus periuk. Selepas itu berus periuk tersebut dengan kuat. Akhir sekali bilas dengan air. Pasti periuk kesayangan anda berkilauan.

Menghilangkan jerawat batu
Kulit yang berjerawat batu mungkin akan merosakkan kecantikan muka terutama bagi kaum wanita. Untuk menghilangkannya, ambil beras, tumbuk hingga halus dan campurkan sedikit air. Gunakan pada waktu hendak tidur tiga kali seminggu. Insyaallah jerawat batu anda akan hilang.

Rawatan jika terkena minyak atau air panas
Ambil sedikit kicap dan garam halus. Kemudian sapukan kedua-dua bahan tadi di tempat yg terkena minyak atau air panas. Sebelum itu berselawatlah keatas Nabi S.A.W sebanyak 3 kali.

Mengelakkan gula dimasuki semut
Masukkan kulit kayu manis ke dalam bekas simpanan gula. Insyaallah semut akan lari.

Menghilangkan demam campak
Caranya sebelum merebak keseluruh badan, pesakit itu hendaklah diberi minum air kelapa dan kemudian mandikan dengan air kelapa itu (boleh dicampur dengan air).

Karipap lebih rangup
Ramai suri rumah merungut apabila kulit karipap yang mereka buat liat dan keras. Cara mengatasi masalah ini mudah iaitu sebelum mengadun marjerinbersama tepung gandum, panaskan marjerin yang telah disukat bersama 1/2 cawan minyak masak. Biarkan mendidih. Tuangkan minyak tadi kedalam adunan tepung, kemudian ulilah seperti biasa. Dengan ini karipap anda akan rangup dan enak.

Melegakan selsema bayi
Ambil sebiji kunyit, patahkan, potong atau tumbuk. Kemudian sapukan pada batang hidung bayi anda. Insyaallah jika selalu diamalkan, hidung bayi anda tidak akan tersumbat dan dia akan tidur nyenyak.

Melembutkan daging
Caranya ialah rebuskan daging yang telah siap dicuci dengan satu camca serbuk soda bikarbonat. Setelah daging lembut bolehlah dicuci dengan air bersih sebelum digunakan untuk memasak sup atau rendang. Juga boleh direbus bersama daun nangka jika tiada serbuk soda.

Menghilangkan parut luka
Bekas parut yang berwarna hitam selalu mengganggu penampilan kita. Usahlah bimbang, ada cara untuk menghilangkannya. Ambil sebiji ubi kentang dan kukus dan apabila sudah masak, lumatkan hingga halus dan tempelkan pada parut tersebut. Biarkan hingga kering dan bekas parut itu akan hilang dengan sendirinya. Amalkan sehingga kesan parut hilang.

Memudahkan mengopek kerang
Memakan makanan memanglah suatu yang melazatkan tetapi untuk mengatasi cara pemakanannya adalah suatu yang membosankan dan menyusahkan terutamanya kerang. Suri rumah tentu mengeluh apabila isi rumah ingin memakan atau meratah makanan ini. Di sini ada petua untuk memudahkan mengopek kerang. Caranya ialah apabila anda merebus kerang, campurkan sesudu minyak masak kedalam air rebusan. mudah-mudahan kerang itu akan terbuka sedikit dan memudahkan anda mengopeknya.

Merawat penyakit buasir
Kebanyakkan kaum lelaki mengalami masalah ini. Cara untuk mengatasinya ialah ambil sebiji kelapa gading yang kecil berwarna kuning, bakar atau panaskan hujungnya. Kemudian tekapkan pada bahagian yang sakit. Lakukan berulang kali sehingga berasa selesa.

Mengatasi bayi demam selepas disuntik
Bagi ibu yang mempunyai anak dan sering demam setiap kali disuntik, bolehlah mencuba petua ini. Selepas anak anda disuntik, sapukan bawang kecil yang dipotong pada tempat yang disuntik. Seeloknya bawang tersebut hendaklah dibawa setiap kali anda keklinik. Insyaallah dengan cara ini dapat mengatasi demam anak.

Menghilangkan gatal getah keladi
Sebelum menyiang keladi pastikan tangan tidak basah. Lumurkan beberapa keping asam keping (asam gelugur) pada tangan. Insyaallah tangan tidak gatal lagi. Seperkara lagi semasa menyiang keladi iaitu semasa menanggalkan kulit nipis dibahagian luarnya, janganlah batang keladi direndam dengan air. Setelah siap kesemuanya, barulah dibasuh bersih dan masukkan bersama beberapa keping asam gelugur jika masih terdapat kegatalan.

Mempercepatkan pembekuan agar-agar
Puding sejuk dan agar-agar kadang-kadang lambat membeku jika terlebih airnya. Untuk mempercepatkan pembekuan, loyangperlu disejukkan didalam peti sejuk tingkat teratas. Apabila cukup sejuk, isikan agar-agar didalamnya. Pasti hasilnya amat memuaskan.

Mengelak kain batik daripada luntur
Untuk mengelakkan kain batik daripada luntur warnanya dan mudah pudar, eloklah digunakan daun betik agar warna kain tetap cantik dan nampak baru. Caranya ialah ambil beberapa helai daun betik dan rebus bersama air. Ketika air rebusan masih panas, masukkan kain batik dan rendam semalaman. Setelah itu bolehlah dicuci seperti biasa. Insyaallah, kain itu tidak akan luntur lagi.

Memudahkan bayi buang air besar
Jika bayi anda sukar buang air besar, cubalah ambil sedikit asam jawa dan gaul atau ramas dengan sedikit air biarkan ia agak pekat kemudian sapulah pada bahagian ubun-ubun bayi anda juga pada pusatnya. Cubalah petua ini dan amalkan setiap hari. Insyaallah bayi anda tiada masalah sebu perut.

Cara merawat penyakit panau
Jika anda ada panau, tentu memalukan. Apatah lagi jika panau ketara pada muka. Cuba petua ini. Ambil sepotong halia, tumbuk lumat kemudian tempelkan pada tempat berpanau. Insyaallah anda akan perolehi hasilnya.

Menghilangkan bau nasi hangit
Untuk menghilangkan bau nasi hangit, caranya ialah ambil beberapa helai daun limau purut, carik-carikkan dan masukkan di dalam nasi hangit - tutup semula tudung periuk. Pasti nasi berbau harum.

Merawat cirit-birit dan menghilangkannya
Bagi mereka yang mengalami cirit-birit, bolehlah mengamalkan makan pucuk jambu batu. Caranya: rendam pucuk jambu batu itu di dalam air panas bersama sedikit garam untuk membersih kekotoran pada pucuk jambu itu. Setelah agak layu, bolehlah terus dimakan. Insyaallah perut tidak lagi sakit dan usus-usus berfungsi dengan baik semula.

Menghentikan hidung berdarah
Cuaca terlalu panas boleh mendatangkan kemudharatan. Antaranya, berlaku pendarahan melalui hidung. Untuk menghentikan segera pendarahan, ambil sehelai daun sirih, gulung hingga kecil dan sumbatkan ke dalam hidung yg berdarah. Insyaallah darah akan cepat berhenti.

Kacang hijau cepat empuk
Apabila kita merebus kacang hijau, masukkan sedikit minyak ke dalam periuk dan letakkan atas api. Banyakny aminyak masak terletak pada banyaknya kacang hijau yang di rebus. Kalau sekilo kacang, masukkan setengah camca minyak. Insyaallah akan cepatlah empuk, lepas tu bolehlah masukkan santan dan gula seandainya membuat bubur kacang.

Cara membersih botol susu hingga berkilat
Menghadapi masalah mencuci botol susu terutamanya yang berbentuk unik? Berus yang tercipta khusus pun tidak mampu mencuci hingga ke celahnya. Cubalah petua ini. Masukkan sedikit beras di dalam botol susu, di campur dengan air panas atau sejuk. Goncang-goncang botol susu itu. Hasilnya bukan saja botol bersih, puting susu juga turut hilang dakinya. Petua ini boleh juga di cuba untuk membersihkan botol air plastik yang lain.

THREE Powerful little Words

The following three-word phrases can enrich every relationship. These are just three little BUT VERY POWERFUL words !!!

I'll Be There
If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the night, to take a sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken down some miles from home, you will know how good it feels to hear the phrase "I'll be there." Being there for another person is the greatest gift we can give. When we're truly present for other people, important things happen to them & us. We are renewed in love and friendship. We are restored emotionally and spiritually. Being there is at the very core of civility.

I Miss You
Perhaps more marriages could be saved & strengthened if couples simply & sincerely say to each other "I miss you." This powerful affirmation tells partners they are wanted, needed, desired & loved. Consider how ecstatic you would feel, if you received an unexpected phone call from your spouse in the middle of your workday, just to say "I miss you."

I Respect You
Respect is another way of showing love. Respect conveys the feeling that another person is a true equal. If you talk to your children as if they were adults you will strengthen the bonds & become close friends. This applies to all interpersonal relationships.

Maybe You're Right
This phrase is highly effective in diffusing an argument and restoring frayed emotions. The flip side to "maybe you're right" is the humility of admitting maybe "I'm wrong". Let's face it. When you have a heated argument with someone, all you do is cement the other person's point of view. They, or you, will not change their stance and you run the risk of seriously damaging the relationship between you. Saying "maybe you're right" can open the door to further explore the subject, in which you may then have the opportunity to get your view across in a more rational manner.

Please Forgive Me
Many broken relationships could be restored and healed if people would admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us are vulnerable to faults and failures. A man should never be ashamed to own up that he has been in the wrong, which is saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.

Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who enjoy the companionship of good, close friends are those who don't take daily courtesies for granted. A friend is one who walks in when others walk out. Loyalty is an essential ingredient for true friendship; it is the emotional glue that bonds people. The best of friends see a need and try to fill it. When they spot a hurt they do what they can to heal it. Without being asked, they pitch in and help.

I Understand You
People become closer and enjoy each other more if they feel the other person accepts and understands them. Letting your spouse know in so many little ways that you understand them, is one of the most powerful tools for healing relationship. This applies to any relationship.

Go For It
We are all unique individuals. Don't try to get your friends to conform to your ideals. Support them in pursuing their interests, no matter how weird they seem to you. Everyone has dreams, dreams that are unique to that person only. Support and encourage your friends to follow their dreams. Tell them to "go for it."

I Love You
Perhaps the most important three words that you can say. Telling someone that you truly love them satisfies a person's deepest emotional needs. The need to belong, to feel appreciated and to be wanted. Your spouse, your children, your friends and you, all need to hear those three little words "I love you."

Do You Think Like A Psychopath?

10 Nasihat Luqman Al Hakim Kepada Puteranya

Segala puji bagi Allah SWT, sholawat serta salam semoga tetap terlimpahkan kepada junjungan kita nabi Muhammad SAW, shahabat, keluarga serta orang-orang yang masih berittiba' (mengikuti) kepada beliau sampai hari kiamat.
Al Qur'an adalah sumber hukum dan ilmu pengetahuan yang tak pernah kering untuk ditimba, penuh dengan pelajaran, di dalamnya terdapat hikmah dan teladan. Salah satu isi pokok dari Al Qur'an adalah kisah perjalanan kehidupan para nabi dan rasul serta orang-orang saleh dari umat-umat sebelum nabi Muhammad SAW. Hikmah diceritakannya sirah manusia-manusia pilihan itu tidak lain karena besarnya manfaat dari keteladanan iman, sifat dan akhlaq mereka. Maka disini akan saya angkat sebuah kisah Luqman Al Hakim yang penuh dengan hikmah bagi kita semua.

1. Tidak menyekutukan Allah.
Sebesar-besar kedzaliman dan kemungkaran adalah menyekutukan Allah SWT, sebagaimana firman Allah SWT
"Dan (ingatlah) ketika Luqman berkata kepada anaknya, di waktu ia memberi pelajaran kepadanya: "Hai anakku, janganlah kamu mempersekutukan (Allah) sesungguhnya mempersekutukan (Allah) adalah benar-benar kezaliman yang besar".(Q.S. Luqman:13)

Allah SWT tidak akan mengampuni dosa syirik, kecuali ia bertobat dan meninggalkan perbuatannya. Sesungguhnya hanya Allah sajalah yang berhak untuk disembah (Allahu mustahiqqul 'ibaadah). Dia lah yang berhaq di mintai pertolongan. Hanya kepada-Nyalah segala urusan diserahkan, takut (khouf), berharap (raja') hanya layak ditujukan kepada Allah swt, bukan kepada yang lainnya

2. Berbuat baik kepada kedua orang tua.
Firman Allah SWT.
"Dan Kami perintahkan kepada manusia (berbuat baik) kepada dua orang ibu-bapaknya; ibunya telah mengandungnya dalam keadaan lemah yang bertambah-tambah, dan menyapihnya dalam dua tahun. Bersyukurlah kepada-Ku dan kepada dua orang ibu bapakmu, hanya kepada-Kulah kembalimu."( QS.Luqman: 14)
Di dalam riwayat Bukhari, Rasulullah pernah ditanya oleh seorang sahabat:
"Amalan apakah yang dicintai oleh Allah ?Beliau menjawab: Shalat pada waktunya, ia bertanya lagi: Kemudian Apa ?, Beliau menjawab: berbuat baik kepada orang tua, .Ia bertanya lagi: kemudian apa?, Belau menjawab: Jihad di jalan Allah" (shahih Bukhari V/2227, hadits No.5625)

3. Ketaatan kepada kedua orang tua harus dilandasi oleh ketaatan kepada Allah;
karena tidak boleh taat kepada keduanya dalam rangka berbuat maksiat kepada Allah, lebih-lebih menyekutukan Allah ( syirik ). Allah berfirman

"Dan jika keduanya memaksamu untuk mempersekutukan dengan Aku sesuatu yang tidak ada pengetahuanmu tentang itu, maka janganlah kamu mengikuti keduanya, dan pergaulilah keduanya di dunia dengan baik"(QS. Luqman: 14).

4. Mengikuti jalan orang-orang yang kembali kepada Allah SWT
Firman Allah SWT

Dan ikutilah jalan orang yang kembali kepada-Ku, kemudian hanya kepada-Kulah kembalimu, maka Ku-beritakan kepadamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan.(QS. Luqman: 15)

Disini Luqman memberikan sebuah nasehat kepada anaknya agar ia mengikuti jejak orang-orang yang kembali kepada Allah SWT yaitu para nabi dan rasul serta orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal shaleh, yang selalu bertaubat kepada Allah SWT, yang telah diberi Allah SWT hidayah, yaitu tetap dalam agama yang hanif yakni Islam.

5. Allah akan membalas semua perbuatan manusia.

Firman Allah swt :
(Luqman berkata): "Hai anakku, sesungguhnya jika ada (sesuatu perbuatan) seberat biji sawi, dan berada dalam batu atau di langit atau di dalam bumi, niscaya Allah akan mendatangkannya (membalasinya). Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Halus lagi Maha Mengetahui.(Q.S: 16)

"Maka Barangsiapa yang mengerjakan kebaikan seberat dzarrahpun, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan) nya. Dan barangsiapa yang mengerjakan kejahatan seberat dzarrahpun, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan) nya pula". (QS. Al Zalzalah: 7-8).

6. Menegakkan sholat.

Shalat adalah tiang agama, sehingga ia tidak akan tegak tanpa shalat. Maka sebagai seorang yang beriman kita diwajibkan menegakkannya. Sebagaimana firman Allah SWT dalam Surah Luqman ayat 17 yang berbunyi :

"Hai anakku, dirikanlah shalat !"
Shalat dapat mencegah manusia dari perbuatan keji dan mungkar, sebagaimana firman Allah SWT.
!"Dan dirikanlah shalat. Sesungguhnya shalat itu mencegah dari (perbuatan-perbuatan) keji dan mungkar." (QS. Al 'Ankabuut: 45)

7. Amar Ma'ruf nahi Munkar.
Ada dua komponen penting dalam Islam yang memberikan sebuah dorongan yang kuat kepada setiap muslim untuk mendakwahkan agama yang dianutnya, yaitu Amar ma'ruf nahi mungkar (memerintahkan berbuat kebajikan dan mencegah yang mungkar). Perintah untuk beramar ma'ruf nahi mungkar sangat banyak di dalam Al Qur'an seperti :

"Dan hendaklah ada di antara kamu segolongan umat yang menyeru kepada kebajikan, menyuruh kepada yang ma`ruf dan mencegah dari yang munkar; merekalah orang-orang yang beruntung".(QS. Ali Imran:104).

8. Bersabar terhadap apa yang menimpa kita.
Sesungguhnya segala cobaan yang menimpa seorang muslim itu adalah merupakan sesuatu yang mesti terjadi karena itulah bentuk ujian (ikhtibar) dari Allah SWT, apakah ia sabar atau tidak ?, firman Allah SWT.

"Dan bersabarlah terhadap apa yang menimpa kamu. Sesungguhnya yang demikian itu termasuk hal-hal yang diwajibkan (oleh Allah)."(QS. Luqman:17)

9. Tidak Menyombongkan diri
Sifat takabur atau merasa besar dihadapan manusia adalah sifat yang dibenci oleh Allah SWT.

"Dan janganlah kamu memalingkan mukamu dari manusia (karena sombong) dan janganlah kamu berjalan di muka bumi dengan angkuh. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang sombong lagi membanggakan diri."

10. Bersikap pertengahan dalam segala hal dan berakhlaq yang baik
Islam tidak menghendaki sikap Ghuluw (berlebih-lebihan) juga tidak menginginkan untuk bersikap tahawun (meremehkan) dalam segala hal termasuk juga dalam perkara-perkara yang menurut penilaian sebagian orang dianggap kecil seperti sikap berjalan, berbicara dsb. Allah SWT mengatur itu semua sebagaimana firmanNya:

"Dan sederhanalah kamu dalam berjalan dan lunakkanlah suaramu. Sesungguhnya seburuk-buruk suara ialah suara keledai."

Manusia akan mempunyai nilai jika menampakkan akhlaq yang baik, karena tujun diutusnya Rasulullah SAW selain untuk menyeru kepada Allah ( Ad-dakwah ilallah) adalah untuk menyempurnakan Akhlaq dan budi pekerti
